
Dr. Xu is a board-certified pathologist in Anatomic/Clinical Pathology, and Hematopathology and a translational scientist in advancing diagnostic medicine through his combined clinical and research background. As the Medical Director of Pathology at AHMC Seton Medical Center and multiple CLIA laboratories, he bridges groundbreaking biomedical research with clinical diagnostics, providing expertise in flow cytometry, FISH, and molecular oncology.
As an expert in hematopathology and molecular diagnostics, Dr. Xu directs multiple CLIA-certified laboratories. He has published NIH-funded work on RNA splicing in Cell and Nature Cell Biology. Recognized as CAPA’s two-time “Member of the Year,” he combines operational leadership with a passion for mentoring future pathologists.
Because of his training with Dr. Fred Gage, a world-renowned stem cell researcher, at the prestigious Salk Institute, Dr. Xu maintains an active role in advancing the field through his research collaborations and educational dedication. He received the Whitehill Teaching Prize and mentored many pathology residents and fellows. Dr. Xu has extensive clinical diagnostic expertise in both solid tumors and blood cancer.
